Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rail Coach Factory, Hussainpur, working under KVS, New Delhi, was opened during the session 1987-88 as a 02 section Vidyalaya. It is situated in the premises of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala which is at a distance of 9Km from the city of Kapurthala on the Sultanpur-Kapurthala road. It is connected with Rail as well as road to Kapurthala.It was upgraded to 10+2 during 1994-95. It was made a Model KV during 2000-01. One more section, from class I to X, was added in 2003-04.

In the present scenario where Indian Culture and traditions are being constantly influenced by the west, the Vidyalaya tries to amalgamate both by instilling in the child a scientific temper and respect for his own cultural heritage and traditional values of life, a fusion that prepares him for facing the new challenges of the fast changing world.

The main objectives therefore are:

• To channelise the energies of the students toward creative work and development of skills.
• To produce useful & virtuous human beings having self-confidence.

Our Mission

KVS has a four fold mission viz:- 

1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
3. To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.
4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
